What are the Costs? As a non profit, licensed agency, we are committed to providing quality adoption services in the same caring professional atmosphere that has been our trademark since 1953. Because we are a full service agency, the entire adoption process is handled by our social workers and there are no additional state or attorney fees required. The fees are paid by the adoptive family as services are rendered to them:$ 500 Enrollment deposit - guarantees place in next educational study group. This covers professional staff time prior to the beginning of the educational study group including all phone inquiries and your personal interview as well as all clerical expenses such as mailing and processing references, the application packet and other paperwork. $2500 Home Study Fee--Payable at the first educational group meeting. This covers the educational component consisting of either six evening classes or the same material covered in the intense weekend seminars, review of the autobiographical statements, individual interviews, social workers' visit to your home, and the required certification. This fee includes about 25 hours of direct contact with your social worker. There are no additional charges for time expended on dictation, processing paperwork and other required documentation. $1,000 to $5,000 - Payable at the home visit. This fee is based on 5% of your gross annual income, (up to a maximum of $5,000) and indicates completion of the study process. It funds the birthparent component of our program, including: individual and family counseling, advising of rights and responsibilities, completing required documentation, facilitating matches and coordinating the meeting between birthparents and adoptive parents. It also funds the relinquishment process which includes termination of birthfather's rights. $2500 Payable at the time child(ren) enters your home. This funds the social worker's time in coordinating and participating in the placement meeting, four post placement contacts with the Adoptive Family, grief counseling with birthparents and preparation with the adoptive family for court finalization. Infrequently, IPAS incurs out-of-pocket costs in obtaining or freeing a child for adoption. Reimbursement will be expected only for costs directly related to your child, up to a maximum of $2,000. |
