In the United States, volunteer involvement is what makes the non-profit sector work. Since this nation's earliest days, Americans have banded together to help operate schools, hospitals, churches, temples and other civic groups. Today, the great American tradition of volunteering continues. A personal connection to a cause, whether through personal experience, family history, friends or relatives, is the most important reason people volunteer. More than 80 percent of non-profit organizations in the U.S. rely on volunteers. The value of the contribution volunteers make to non-profits each year is over $200 billion. Those familiar with non-profits agree that philanthropy would cease to exist without the generous contributions of dedicated volunteers.
At Infant of Prague Adoption Service, we rely on volunteers to help accomplish our mission. Whether it is making calls about events, handling mailings, contacting guests for a fundraiser, or staffing booths at
| health fairs, volunteers allow us to get the word out about the agency.
This is an exciting time to be affiliated with Infant of Prague and I want to ask you to get involved. As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary of providing personalized adoption services to infants, children, and families we need active volunteers more than ever. We need help getting our post-adoption and outreach programs off the ground, and assistance organizing our 50th Anniversay Gala. Will you help?
Volunteering is rewarding, especially when it involves the power of children and families. Every member of the Board of Directors of Infant of Prague is a volunteer. We give our time, money, and hearts to Infant of Prague Adoption Service. Will you please join us? Together, we can achieve our highest goals and aspirations for Infant of Prague. I hope we can count of you to help.
